This residence, which was destroyed by the Thomas Fire, was rebuilt and reimagined as a place for family to come together stronger than ever. The U-shaped house is organized into three distinct wings. The spine of the residence is the open-layout of public rooms. An integrated dining room and great room, naturally lit by floor to ceiling glass and a saw-tooth skylight above, connects the left and right sides of the house. On the left side are the kitchen and living room, which open onto an outdoor patio. Three bedrooms of various sizes, one of which is a full en-suite, form an entire wing of the house. The opposite end of the house comprises the master suite, which includes its own study and laundry room. The U-shape plan encircles an outdoor patio with a full kitchen and bar that connects to the standalone garage and ADU. Hexagonal motifs repeat throughout the overall plan, which maximizes the glazing area for taking in ample views of the Pacific Ocean.
